Re: Connecting Sony SRF-XX to outdoor antenna for improved FM reception?
It appears from the service manual that this model does not use a wideband ceramic filter on the antenna. You should connect the center conductor of the 75 ohm coax to TP6, and the shield to TP7.

Bruce,
Very helpful and detailed answer.

This sounds like a not uncommon problem with modern keypads
and micro-switches : contact corrosion or wear.
I have disassembled keypads and microswitches and gently cleaned the
carbon-coated and PCB

Re: WBT's Digital Test - "Is There Hope For A Digital AM Band?"
Is there hope? Maybe your CATV provider will come to the rescue. Most internet radio stations are not relays of real radio stations... just a jukebox of pre-programmed listening based upon your likes.

I think I've now broken both my MW/LW and FM buttons (they press but don't do anything). Now the only way I can get into FM is by resetting the batteries (as the default is FM). Shortwave still

Re: Tecsun 380 - Longwave stopped working
The LW range can be switched on and off.
Switch off the radio and hold down the MW/LW button.
EIther "LW ON" or "LW OFF" will appear. If it's "LW OFF" let the button go and then hold it down again

Hi group.
Can anyone with a newer PL 380 tell me if it tunes MW using 10kHz increments (not fast slow)? The Grundig G8 which is almost the same radio does 10 kHz only however early reviews of the PL

Hello Allen,
Thanks very much for your comments on the recent cliff-side DXpeditions.
It would be great if I could track down exotic DX from my living room on an oceanfront estate in a prime DXing

Depressingly true - probably...
To the rear-guard referred to in the last two lines below,
the term "wireless" conveys a superior meaning :-)
