new ULR logging in NE Ohio tonight
990 WJER, Gallipolis, Ohio, at 8:57pm EDT with MOYL/standards and early legal ID.
Listed as 1kw days/250 watts critical hours/16 watts...non-directional. Assume they were on 16 watts, wouldn't you

Re: Station 800 on ULR
Great work, Allen! When I compare my 800 (I'm at 857, got a new station this morning) with your 800, I think I'd rather have your log! I've done some DXing from Nova Scotia so I know how the DX can

Congrats on #800+ good Southern RX last nite and even previous nite here. Might have been Auroral Conditions.
Curious if you have WMIA from Puerto Rico in your logs. I got that one here when

Re: CKGM 990 Montreal Heard Testing on 690
Sorry for double-post... CKGM is already in my logs on 990 kHz. However I note with the frequency change, a small movement of the transmitter location reported to the FCC. CKGM is apparently 1/3 mile

Congratulations! El Salvador is impressive. You definitely benefited from the latest geomagnetic disturbance. Only the usual Cubans and couple of Venezuelans noted here.

Puyallup, WA Ultralight DU's for 9-6
Hello All,
Very strange conditions here this morning as Asiatic TP's were again dead, but 738-Tahiti had the best French audio ever received here. Weak DU hets were heard on 675, 684, 756 and 1116

I have made the decision to leave the ULDX hobby and as such I am selling off all my gear.

Re: CKGM 990 Montreal Heard Testing on 690
I can hear CKGM on 690 in the small hours this morning. Canadian ads for Tim Hortons, and PSA's using dot ca EMAIL addresses. Seems to be Canadian branded "ESPN". I've heard the change went live

Re: Tecsun PL-600 Birdie
Sorry for that. I learned something new about a radio I have
owned for years (the DX-440 being double conversion). I just
assumed it was single because almost all double-conversion
radios list that on

Re: Tecsun PL-600 Birdie
Remember, my PL-600 does not have any birdie between 450 and 460. I dug out my old one, and it has no birdie there either. So there a two PL-600 radios without that problem. - FARMERIK

Re: Tecsun PL-600 Birdie
Thanks for all the info. Since it's quite strong, killing any normal reception between 450-460 I was bit concerned that the radio might have a serious fault. But as you all have pointed out, it seems

Re: Going Linear...
If unable to shut off the noise source, I would consider going "ultralight unlimited class" by coupling an outdoor terminated broadband loop antenna to your ultralight radio for DXing from the comfort

Puyallup, WA Ultralight TP's for 9-4
Hello All,
Results here were very similar to Dennis' report. A few decent signals from "big gun" TP's, but quite a letdown from the thrilling South Pacific DX this summer on the Oregon cliffs :-) I
