Hey Kevin:
The definition of what constitutes an "Ultralight" went through significant deliberation and review, and the definitions are where we ended up. There is some flexibility built in, as you

Though I prefer the word "consumer-grade", "entertainment-grade" seems close enough. Priced and configured for the mass-consumer, as opposed to a fraternity. Sized and weighted for maximum

I must say that the "entertainment-grade radio" criterion in the definitions seems fuzzy. Here's what it says:

Re: Tecsun PL-118 English manual added to Files section
I'm on a brief vacation in San Luis Obispo County, CA -- a good place
to test because there are quite a few translators plus only one
station in HD. I compared my PL-606 and a new PL-118 in an ETM

Re: Setting 9KHz/10KHz AM step in Kchibo KK-D202 DSP receiver
This setting method can also set the volume control range too. When the radio came, it couldn't be set very loud. Now it gets loud quickly.

It it works like a SI chip radio, you might suspect it is one. I opened my Kchibo KK-D202 (nondestructively) and saw si4734 stenciled on the circuit board.

Re: Tecsun PL-118 English manual added to Files section
I see that the manual fails to document the sleep timer. With the radio off, press and hold the power button. It will say "On" in the display. Quickly rotate the thumbwheel to set the sleep timer

Setting 9KHz/10KHz AM step in Kchibo KK-D202 DSP receiver
The KK-D202 comes in two versions, the original version and an "upgrade" version that adds a 9/10 KHz setting via a switch in the battery compartment. It uses the Silicon Laboratories si4734 DSP

Re: Got My New Degen 321 DSP Radio Today - Great Performance so far!
I also have one and would disagree somewhat. It is really great on FM, OK for AM locals, but completely worthless on shortwave. Part of the SW problem is the strong local on 1080KHZ that breaks
