Recently I found a sony ICF-S10MK2 at a local thrift store,$2.00.
After installing 2 new batteries(I always carry some AA's to such

Re: Extra capacitance/inductance for external antennas
I was fiddling around with the PL-360 [which does not have an internal ferrite rod but rather a small plug in one] and with the radio tuned to a LW frequency, I noticed both the TERK and the Q-STICK

Haven't worked BCB DX on board a ship so I can't help there. However; Mexican BCB stations, like the rest of North America, uses a 10KHz channel spacing in the MW band. You may also want to identify

Patrice, I assume you are "fast_logger", as identified by Kevin.
To have any effect, a ferrite (or air-loop) with LW or MW winding must either
1. be hardwired into the PL380 in lieu of the internal

Not sure if anyone has tried this before but I am taking a 3 day Mexico cruise later this year from Los Angeles (California) to Mazatlan and back. I think I will take my PL380 with me and try my luck
