Re: Degen PL1126
I've had one for about 10 days now. My take:
MW to SW bleed-through doesn't seem as bad as on the D96L.
Seems to be able to record at any volume level. I haven't figured out how to set it to make

'headphone-antenna-mode' when I plugged headphones in. This was
usually only on FM, but I'm guessing that is what's happening

Re: Mini DXpedition to Jayne's Hill Long Island
An updated version of the D96L would be great! However, as I work with these radios and read about the Tecsun models, I can't help but wonder what the DE1123 would be with a larger loopstick, and

Re: AM DX'ing? FM DX'ing? Or Both?
Hi John,
I've not really tried FX DXing beyond a little dabbling here and there.
I live in a large metro area full of FM stations close to me and I can
never seem to pull stations further than 75

Hey John:
In File Folder 5 here on the Group there is an article "Comparing Small MW DXing Antennas.pdf", comparing a bunch of commercially available units.
In my opinion, there is little difference

Re: Mini DXpedition to Jayne's Hill Long Island
Thanks, Neil,
No doubt the salt water of L.I. Sound helps with propagation from CT, RI, and MA.
I love my D96L for FM. AM/MW is almost as good; SW would probably be great if it didn't have those

Postings and observations suggest that there are significant
discrepancies in quality control in the Middle Kingdom. RF sensitivity
depends on auto-tracking by the chip on the AM ferrite winding

Comparing the PL-380 vs PL-390
I have noticed while comparing MW reception that my PL-380 actually out performs my PL-390 in the center of the AM band, but not so much on either end of the band. wondering if anyone else noticed
