Don't count on having the chance to mail it. If they decide they don't like the looks of it, they'll just confiscate it, and if you argue too much, they'll detain you. If I wanted to take it on a trip

Re: An even More Monstrous ferrite on the way
Hi Raph:
The 800 mu permeability is still fine for resonating on MW, as far as I can tell. I have been comparing the 800 mu stick to my Q Stick, and the signal gain is substantially leap better on

I could be wrong here, but I was under the impression the Stormwise ferrite rods were made of packed ferrite powder. This explains why they're available in such a variety of lengths. I would think

Hi Rick,
I am not sure what causes the AGC difference you are hearing, but it can't be the parameters you mention as those only apply to the Si474x versions of the part (automotive grades). I have

Hi Kevin!
Glad to see you becoming even more addicted to monster ferritesas well! I am wondering how well the 800 mu ferrites will work on MW ascompared to the 125 mu--I don’t know enough radio

Forget mammoth ferrites, Kevin.
Cycle to work with a half-wave tuned vertical
suspended from a kilometer-high helium balloon :-)
Thatll pull the dx in - and not a few stares...

I just got off the phone with Stormwise, intending to order another 18" "Monster" ferrite, since I have a few other ideas about what to do with them. As it turns out, they are available in

Re: Comparing ferrite loopsticks a box loop on longwave
Rick,
Are you saying that the PL-606 has a built-in external MW antenna jack like the vertically oriented Pl-360 or that it needs modification like the PL-310's jack.
Thanks,
Barry

Re: Comparing ferrite loopsticks a box loop on longwave
Not all Tecsuns, only the Tecsun receivers, and Grundig G8, using the Si4734 IC have this built-in varactor which is one of the best features of the chip. The inability to use an external MW antenna

I am of a mixed mind about some aspects of the T615. It's small. Very small. As far as ultralight goes, I've never seen anything smaller or lighter that has a built in speaker, and certainly nothing
