The IC is very clearly targeted at ultra-low-cost mechanically tuned "legacy" analog radios. 80% cost reduction is a superb achievement of integration.

I like the 310 except for its spurious tones on AM which ruins reception on many frequencies for me. I was comparing it on AM with my PL-200 and DT400W and although the 310 is clearly more sensitive
