The ferrite rod for the PL-360 is external, a plug in ferrite is supplied with the radio.
I have over wound some turns on the plug in ferrite antenna, and 5 or 6 turns worked in my application.

Try what Gary Deacon does with his Bogs and his Sony M37V. Just wrap several turns around the radio with the end of the long wire. This coupling may be enough to prevent MW overload. I can

Plugged directly into the PL-360's AM ANTENNA jack.
It works fine on the medium wave band. It on the long wave band below 300 kHz where the problem arises.
