Re: Ferrite rod quality- Question for Gary DeBock, and fav...
Thanks Nick.
You are right, 6WA Wagin on 558 kHz (it is 50 kW) is a much better bet for avoiding US domestic frequencies. The transmitter is about 120 miles SE of where I am and is a powerhouse,

Re: A Nice DX on 940kHz
50kW daytimer pointed right at me. 65 Degrees them to me is 4250mV/m at 1km. Not as stong as Chicago, Charlotte, or Atlanta 50kW stations that read in the mid-upper 30's typical summer RSSI at nite.

Re: PL-310 external MW/LW antenna connection
Gary - could you remember to check if the antenna jack on the new PL-210 also works on AM and/or LW ? - THAT would make it very interesting for those unable to do tiny modifications. - FARMERIK

Unfortunately, both 720 and 810 are domestic frequencies here in North America, Laurie, though I seem to recall that 720 has been heard on a DXpedition.
I wonder if 6WA on 558 would be our best bet,

No excuse for a radio this size not to have true digital tuning and a number pad for frequency entry.
As pointed out, Grundig/Eton has a sad recent reputation for poor quality control. They sell
