It has to be reprogrammed to accept a toggle condition (on/off) and add the switch. Someone months back was tearing apart the Si4734 to see if it was indeed reprogrammable. If I recall correctly,

The 1040//1050 is Flemington, NJ and qualifies as a repeater. Can only hear it at nite. You're right about CJMS. Its in the null nicely

If you will notice, on battery the G6 runs on 3 volts, but the WalWart is 4.5 volts. It really works MUCH better on 4.5 volts instead of 3.

I hate to tell you this guys, but my G6 Buzz edition beats my G8 in the AM and shortwave band barefoot. Even after alignment of the stock G8 loopstick for the BCB. I listen to WGN and WBBM regularly

From what I see on the web it seems an AM'er in the Carribbean is rare. BUT I'm not sure these websites list everything--

Years ago, someone did in fact build a single turn loop using Tinker Toys as the 'hardware'. I don't recall anything about it's performance though.

It looks like a ferris wheel or "Tinker Toy" model of one. Now there's an idea for a loop.

Anyone used a spiral wound coil as an antenna?
I am curious what pick up pattern the old fashion spiral wound antennas had, you know, the ones with effectively only the depth of a single turn. [Not box or solenoid wound] -FARMERIK

I own an R-911, PL200, PL-310 and a G6 (non Buzz Aldrin). Quality-wise, the Grundig is below all 3 Tecsun's. LW is near deaf, VHF is useless. At $100 its way too expensive for what it delivers,
