Congratulations!! Exceeding 100 is a great achievement, although you have more counting the closed stations.

Thanks for that scrutinizing look , Amigo Pedro !

Indeed 1143 Reus is an old log, message 16230 of 09/29/11 ;
Onda Cero is indeed Ciudad Real, I added that precision only this morning as I was drawing a list of transmitting sites (I eventually found 46 !)
I have only one Balearic, nothing from EA8 and nothing from EA9.
Linares, I have to look up when I heard them, pretty recent I think, but not recorded.
I will try tonight to tape it. Ontynient is dominant on that channel though.

Appreciate the very useful link, Gracias.

I have not seen any major bugs. In 1143 Cope Reus no longer broadcasts, I think since 2015. The fact that it no longer broadcasts does not mean that it is not valid, on the contrary, I, for example, never registered it (I have been in dx for a little over a year). In 1341 you have an Onda Cero station listed, I suppose it is Ciudad Real, because of your CM (Castilla la Mancha) entry. The other in 1341 is Onda Cero Málaga (Andalusia). As for the islands, you have one from the Balearic Islands, 1224 Cope Mallorca, but none of the Canaries, because they are more difficult due to your location, I suppose. Curiously, you picked up Radio Linares Ser (province of Jaén), 100 km from my position but that I receive badly. I leave you a link that can help you. It is from the AER (Spanish Radio Listener Association) website, it is used to search for the Spanish MW. You can get lists in PDF to print.

I bought this radio used in 2019. Unfortunately it has a few faults.
I only just discovered that the antenna socket works on MW, the internal ferrite rod is disabled.
(It was also sold as a Grundig G5 in North America)

Thanks for that, it makes sense now.

With my own loggings, I have been focusing on those frequencies where I don't often log stations or where the ID is not 100% confirmed. In the past couple of weeks I have added a couple more and confirmed a few as well.

100 Spanish stations and beyond.

Hi

Got 3 NEW ones this morning and I'm quite happy to have made it from 98 to 101.

Zamora-1152 was intriguing this morning as it was on the frequency 855 well before the 0725 local slot (local time).
You can hear it strong here at MINUTE 24 (it was even there at MINUTE 23) while the official slot begins (in the background) towards the end of the recording (and I checked my internet time was correct).

Also Ciudad Real on 801 (Let we warn you, this is a difficult recording)

https://app.box.com/s/tw5bvgcufrr5jooy9owj1qmzbncgno2y

Also easy like Sunday morning came a cool Pontevedra on 855.

let's continue the conquista !!

Thanks for sharing, that is an interesting file and a good way of logging the stations. What does the number in the last column mean?

Patrice, Thank you for so much information on how you work the dx of the Spanish medium wave.
For this season there is an important novelty: new disconnections at 0525 UTC and 1155 UTC in RNE, at the same time as those of Radio 5, I hope it helps you. The diploma that you comment on Iberia DX for all the Spanish provinces is interesting. There are several that resist me, we will keep trying.

Hi again, Pedro y otros amigos.

This is the Excel file of my current Spanish MW campaign; for each frequency I have written the number of stations
that still need to be heard (in red for private networks, in white for RNE)

please correct mistakes if any and report them to me.
I still need 75 stations !
I wish RNE had evening / night regional slots.
And also the weekends are frustrating for regional ID.

Re: Spain MW report

Buenas Tardes, Pe

This 108 stations log has been achieved in several years of irregular DX ing. Almost all has been done with my Tecsun PL380 and a small loop (AN-200) and... in bed.
Only very recently did I try whole spectrum recording with a RTL SDR Dongle and the begger active loop Wellbrook 1530.
It helps to play again until you can ID without doubt. And you have an audio proof as it is easy with SDR Console 3 to record a snippet of jingle or a local ad?
I always turn my antennas due South, a bit more to the S/E if I aim at Catalunya.
Yes I try every day on the busiest frequencies (up to 8 or 9 channels in mid spectrum 855 and 774).
The big advantage of living in Northern France is that almost all stations come with a somewhat equal power and they "seize the power" in turn
During a 10 mn or a 15 mn regional slot, it is not rare to have THREE successive leaders. So even with the SDR IQ file you cannot be satisfied with only the beginning of the regional slot; you have to look forward for the newt jingle or "esta escuchando..." because what you hear at min 57 will not always be the slot start leader.

According to the comparison of my log of active stations and the total present on mwlist.org, it seems the absolute maximum is 173 stations, this puts Spain as a target that has
a latin american challenge in terms of opportunities. Once in a while, I get a new city (Got Ferrol for the first time last week).
I will design my own diploma for my first active 100 soon as I reach that level, and I'm also in touch with Iberia DX for their gret awards like "all provinces".
Take care, Spain is beautiful,; if in doubt, just watch Silvia Perez Cruz singing !!

Great, I like your achievement, the Spanish medium wave gives a lot of fun, for the number of stations. I would like to know which ones you are missing. How do you work on frequencies with many stations? Do you just have patience and try day after day? Do you play with the orientation of your receiver? I work the Spanish medium wave from within, in Córdoba. I hope to get your achievement.

A lot of WHOIS data is obfuscated these days, but it appears that the
domain expired on 8/30.
