Very useful checklist, Paul, thank you. I have not done much away-from-home DXing, but will start again soon. Keith Beesley

Hi, Mr freeze your Nuggets off to Dx here I have a zoom h1 digital recorder being fed to its line input by the headphone jack of my Tecsun pl880. The zoom h1 has a line out jack I have headphones plugged into. You can listen even when not recording, it will pass audio Each file on the SD card is 001, 002, etc I send a text to myself every time I hit record “11780 Brazil 625pm” No paper required, not carrying much extra on you and it’s easy. Thanks for the great suggestions. I have made some changes to it now. As for using MWDXerDB for FM and Shortwave, no reason this could not be added, I did play around with using it for FM loggings at one point. Anything specific you think I would need to change / update?

Re: Radio Size

The size limits only really apply for the awards program, for general usage and loggings, they are more of a guide. (mostly to stop people with large rack mount radios trying to claim they are "ultralight")

Re: LONG TERM DX Projects
Paul Blundell
I am still running my "long term dx project" which is for logging the same 10 stations over a period of time. I have also just started my DX400 challenge which is targeting commercial stations within 400 miles of my location.

My blog is fairly active and I am on a few different groups for various aspects of the radio hobby, on these I often post what I am doing. I was an active ham a few years ago (Ex VK7FPGB) but my licence lapsed a few years ago.

Hi PAUL!

Well the post is very good and light. But maybe you can take these suggestions if you think they're ok: 1- some bold words to divide the post into parts, i.e.: Choosing location; Radio Gear; Extra gear, etc. 2- maybe you can link the database to part of the text to MWDxerDB post? assuming you're using it to log OFFtopic: would you consider updating/tweaking your MWDxerDB to have SW/FM stations? All for now, and thanks for your post. 73s // pedro andrade

It really is so important to get the next generation involved. I am sad when I see how little they have to do with hobbies like this these days. Do you do much to promote the hobby in your part of the world?

Re: New Kmart Radio
What radios do you have?
I am still looking, thinking something cheap off ebay until I decide if I want to stick to it or go back to my bigger radios. Getting out and about sounds great for me.
