Thank you, I will have a good read of it.

Got it... but I used to (I am now retired) put things on my desk specifically to make people ask questions. A good diversion from the grind.
Though I remember a time when I ran an antenna wire up the wall and tossed it out about 20 feet above the drop ceiling to get some (any) signals. The area supervisor thought I was bugging the area... threatened to call security. So in certain circumstances, I see your point.
:)
Anyway, thanks for the response.

Re: Tecsun PL-368 Manual / Enhanced Convenient Tuning (ETM+)

Hi Paul
I have to say on the PL-330 that the "soft mute" is annoying the heck out of me. Its even present on reasonably strong signals and no way of disabling it. I have a PL-380 and it disables if scanned down freq then retuned but that doesn't work on the PL-330. What kind of works is to off tune the frequency but sometimes needs 2Khz on a strong signal. The SYNC is not very stable so that doesn't help much. I've resorted to using zero beat SSB but thats not great on MW.
Apart from that its a fine radio but its not getting much use around here!
Cheers, Gav

I know most stations by ear and from my lists I can tell which stations I am hearing. I also have internet access on my smart phone so that helps at times.

What (if anything?) do you use to assist with station identification?

When I am at home, I use the internet to some extent to assist with some of my ID's, but mobile/remote monitoring (depending on how remote) could make the use of the internet more difficult.

Would love your thoughts here, as I'm trying to really streamline my mobile/remote "kit" of items that I take with me.

Thanks!

Hi Stan,

Yes bummer about FM.

I downloaded the other two and they look like they will be VERY helpful while working mobile/remote.

Thank you!

The fellow who created AM Search also created FM Search, but he never updated the app, so it will not run on later (current) iPhones.

Too bad because I liked both his apps, but can only use AM Search now.

Great information!  Thanks, I will install that one for sure.

I wonder if something like that exists for FM as well?

Thanks again!

Hi Johnny,

If you have an iPhone, there are two apps that I find helpful: for AM/MW DX, I use “AM Search” and for SW, I use “SWBC Sked.”

Good Luck,

DXing Desk

Paul Blundell

After recently moving house, we now have a bit more space and I have the chance to setup a "dxing desk". Below are a few options I have found.

https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/373531424570?hash=item56f835373a:g:J0MAAOSwsMpgbZwB

https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/393212254925?hash=item5b8d46dacd:g:tPYAAOSw~gBgWIbX

https://www.kmart.com.au/product/kitchen-bench-prep-trolley/3468827

The idea is to have something that is portable, it will live in the spare room but come out to other rooms as needed. Ideally it will on wheels, have a work surface that will fit my 3" FSL and some radios and also have some storage space. At this stage the last one appears to be the best "fit" for my needs. Before I buy this, what do you use or any other ideas you have seen?

Thanks.

365 = $100
330 = $145

I also like the look / sound of the S2000 but that is not an ultralight ;)  I am looking at getting a radio desk at home, so that could take a spot on that...

Thanks for the scans.

That feature does not work how I was expecting but does sound very interesting anyway, I am tossing up which way to go, a PL-368, PL-330 or something else. I am not in a rush so I will wait for your review :)

Let me know if I can provide any more info...my review is in progress.
