Richard, I'd think that Brazil on 1100 would be a better bet for you? What ever you can get from WTAM should be gone in an AU and also nulled when you aim at Brazil. I don't think KRDY is that strong at your QTH is it? Cuba on 1100 can be a nuisance in AU cx, but I think they have enough issues in Cuba that this isn't always on. I don't think you'd have dominant Mexicans on 1100 although expect them to QRM.

The auroral conditions were subsiding by the time it was dark here last evening. I tried to listen but the northern stations, including 990 CBW, were returning. I noticed some of the TV/FM DXers were experiencing aurora scatter DX.

Other than 1220 Radio Globo, I don't know what Brazilian stations to listen for. Here, that frequency is dominated by 100 kW XEB in México. Surely I will hear South America on an ULR at some point. Too bad they're not on the splits like when I heard them in the early 1970's.

Best wishes for a happy Canada Day weekend and more good DX.

Will do a deep check later today, and advise if any success.

BTW, the brand name is Tecsun, not Tecsum. Those conducting their own searches that search on Tecsum will not likely find much.

Well, you COULD use both, but for most modern receivers, you -- and the receiver too -- are usually better off using a frequency counter to set items like the PLL base frequency oscillator trimmer, LO mixer insertion frequency, et al.

VERY rare are the current vintage receivers that you can "set by WWV or CHU" and things would likely work, etc.

In addition, this kind of adjustment is best accomplished with a properly attached frequency counter. In many instances, there is no better or more accurate substitute.

I just received my new Tescum Pl-210 and I noticed that it is off frequency and also probably needs to be re-aligned. In my opinion most of the Chinese manufactured radio are mass produced and their main concern is getting them out the door and do not pay any attention to quality control. If anyone had a schematic, service manual or the alignment instruction please contact me. Any help is appreciated.

Somebody can tell the difference between R2001D and this Shouyu:

can you eg tune 9579 Radio Morocco on the DSP? (5khz step or a fast switching chip to other stations ?)

It's too bad Tecsun left out the switchable IF filters. Many of their small DSP models can select from 5 bandwidths, which is a very useful feature.
