For those interested in the relative signal strength of a daytime DX signal on the PL-360's stock loopstick, a 3" x 3/8" upgrade loopstick, and a 7.5" x .5" monster bar, a comparison MP3 was recorded this afternoon on the signal from 750-KXL in Portland, Oregon (about 130 miles distant).

 

In the first 20 seconds the stock loopstick struggles to receive KXL, followed by 20 seconds using the 3" x 3/8" upgrade loopstick. Finally the 7.5" x .5" monster bar is used for the last 25 seconds, providing clear reception of the fringe station.
