PL-380 LW, 2 new TAs, new continent

Longwave conditions into Europe weren't as good last night as Saturday night, but more-easterly paths were working much better. Radio Europe 1 in Germany (183 kHz) was the dominant European, with no copy at all on BBC Radio 4 (198 kHz). Imagine my surprise at hearing R Medi International on 171 kHz at 0347Z, with Arabic music.

After listening to the music for a while I looked for Algeria, and found them on 252 kHz. At first I was scratching my head, because they were playing "Sound of Silence." The M announcer was speaking French. Next up was "It's Now or Never" by our own king, more talk, and finally a song in Arabic. The options on 252 were Ireland and Tatarstan (Russia), and neither of them would be speaking French. R Algierienne sometimes uses French. WRTH has them on-air at 0500Z, but there's no doubt it was them. Here's the end of "Sound of Silence" and the announcer.

Later on I caught R Algierienne 1, parallel on 153 and 198 kHz, with varios M-F speaking Arabic and occasionally playing Arabic music.
But Radio Europe 1 was just blowing everything else away. Even RTL in Luxembourg (234 kHz), origin of the famous Luxembourg Effect, couldn't compete. This one-minute clip is from their TOH at 0500Z.

After three nights, I have 12 countries and 2 continents on LW. A few fast scans turned up no new NDBs last night. Some larger -61 cores are on the way, to make a higher-Q resonant transformer!
Last night's log (April 5 UTC), using PL-380 with matching transformer and 23-inch Hoop Loop:, times in UTC:
