Thanks to all who responded.
I ended up getting a G5 and have had it for about a day.
The G5 seems to be better on MW than the G8, can't tell for sure, as I took the G8 back.
The G5 is pretty close to the Sony 2010 on MW, but there is no contest on SW which is the better receiver.

All in all I'm pleased with the G5. It's not a true UL but it's still lighter than the 2010!!
