DXing LAm Stations
Kirk <kirk74601@...>
Greetings,
Yea guys, it was definitely a good night for the Latin stations last night. I got out my Tecsun 300WT and used it w/ a 7.5" slider loopstick (made by John Bryant) and a SAT (pulled out the big guns, ha ha). I managed to hear some stations on 1340 for the first time since I've been in Texas. The SRF-59 and the E-100 can't detect anything on 1330 or 1340 because of local adjacent channel (lcl) stations. Being able to actually hear stations on 1340, I got all enthused and felt like a kid in a candy shop! Managed quite a few tentatives on some Mexicans and one I feel safe in counting.Tonight I'll be stalking 1340 again to try to sort out the tentatives.
1340, XEDKT, Guadalajara, Jalisco, 0200 UTC, 2/26/10, hrd some lcl ads and a lot of ranchera mx. Many canned IDs as "Radio Ranchito." G sig during peaks. Mixing w/ at least 3 other XE stations.
Have a great weekend and good DX to all.
