Just checked the frequency again this morning. KGBC 1540 on Galveston Island (TX) is still off the air. This is the station that recently switched to China Radio International programming.
Haven't heard why they suddenly went off the air, but it opens up 3 frequencies for me (1530/1540/1550)!!
