Describing the recent experimentation in which two Tecsun PL-380 models
received a significant boost in MW sensitivity (and a major boost in LW
performance) simply by substituting high-quality 40/44 Litz wire for the
bargain-bin Chinese wire on the stock ferrite bar, five photos
have been uploaded to the Ultralightdx Photo section in a new album,
"Stealth-Modified" PL-380.
This significant improvement in DXing performance on both the MW and LW
bands costs only $5 in Litz wire, and has already been tested in two models
created here, and in one made by Steve Ratzlaff. Once the full article is
drafted, it is hoped that other DXers will take advantage of this
ultra-cheap DXing modification.
