2008 Ultralight Radio Summertime Shootout
Hello Guys,
The "Summer Olympics" of pocket radio glory is
about to begin! Just in time to help you choose your dream DX machine
before the upcoming fall season, these amazing little receivers are ready
to "go for the gold," and banish DX boredom in true Olympian fashion.
NOW is the time to submit your contenders for this
ultimate Ultralight extravaganza. Already making the "cut" are the
gallant Sony Team of the SRF-M97 and SRF-S84, and the yellow-jersey Sangean
DT-400W. The Eton E100, with long memories (200 of them), plans to seek
revenge for being left out of the January Olympics. These four gallant
contestants will fight to the finish, then face the reigning world champions
from the January competition (SRF-T615, DT-200VX, SRF-39FP, SRF-59, and
DT-210V).
Possible contenders should meet the Olympic
standards set by the Ultralight Definitions Committee (promulgated on
dxer.ca), and be available for new (or routine NOS) purchase by Olympic
enthusiasts. No visit to China is required.
For those of you yet to experience the thrilling
excitement of "pocket rocket" DXing, why not "Go For the Gold" this summer, and
join the winning Ultralight DX Team? Break a few DXing records of
your own, and enjoy the most fun this side of Beijing!
