Thanks Peter, this is all grist to the mill. Initially on listening to your archive recording, I thought how on earth did he decipher this, but then it became slightly more coherent. This was clearly not sitting at home, it sounded more like the seafront? One point of possible interest here is that I found 558 on my R-108 very clearly, but no matter how carefully I tuned there was no indication of it at all on my SRF-59. Just proving to me that the Sihuadon is clearly (no pun intended) more sensitive than the little Sony. One caveat to this possibly is that I was sitting in the comfort of my armchair surrounded by interference which perhaps the Sony is more susceptible to?
