It sounds like some of the issues we have at a local park area here, always having issues with fires and rubbish being dumped.

Any photos of your set up? I would love to see it.

I know that I would love to catch whoever it is because, aside from being annoying, there is the risk of fire and, I think that much of the neighbourhood would like to catch them also and so, when someone acts a little bit out of the ordinary near the "bang" sites, people take notice.

The radio that I use is a tiny $AU18 model with two "C" cells plugged into its external battery socket and a great big 8" ferrite rod and winding glued to its top.  It sits on top of a ferrite coupler which is attached to the dipole.  I think that the combination of technology looks so alien to the general public that they would never get the idea that it is just a radio and they will accept the seismo explanation.

I think here in semi-rural Michigan (USA), no one would even ask... 

Most places that have population, have a very low population of rural folk, that probably just wouldn't care...

I'd be amazed if someone even said something, LOL!
