Same thing here, 1600 UTC, time beeps and the loudest of announcements !
Still trying Japan , especially on 1242 but no luck so far.
Taiwan has been great on 1557 and China too on 1206 this december.
Using only an ultralight Tecsun PL380 with AN-200 loop here
