Hope I'm not too late with this info, but...

The PL-390's internal antenna is 4 5/8in/118mm wide.

I've posted pics. I left the blurry one in to show the real estate.

Thanks for the link! No surprise that it isn't a MW DXer's dream, but I
rarely use them barefoot, so it's not a deal-breaker. It will be interesting
to see if there is some available real estate inside to retrofit a larger
ferrite, though!
